How to deploy a GitHub application on Zenifra
Connect the repository, set the commands, and let every push update your application.
Before you start
Connect your GitHub account to Zenifra and install the Zenifra GitHub App on the personal account or organization that owns the repository. In organizations, the installation may require administrator approval.
Create the project
In the console, click Create Project and choose GitHub Repository as the source. Select the repository, branch, runtime, and application commands.
- pre-build: optional, runs before the build
- build: optional, produces the application artifacts
- start: required, starts the application
Node.js projects
The Node.js runtime installs dependencies with npm ci. Keep package.json and a valid package-lock.json in the application directory, and commit the lockfile whenever dependencies change. Before publishing, run npm ci, npm run build, and npm start locally with the same Node.js version selected for the project.
Auto-deploy
Creating the project starts the first build. With auto-deploy enabled, every push to the chosen branch publishes a new version automatically. You can also publish from tags and releases that match the configured pattern.
If the build fails
Open Build Logs to find the step that failed. The most common issues are a missing package-lock.json or one out of sync with package.json. Fix it, commit it, and create a new build.
